Known throughout the world for its music festival, Snape Maltings offer fantastic acoustics with its high roof. There are now many shops and artist galleries in the old maltings, a walk to Aldeburgh along the Suffolk Coastal Path (lots of birds to be seen) and catch the bus back. An even better walk IMO is to Iken Cliffs along the boardwalk, you may need Wellies at extreme hightide. This is avocet territory the bird that adorns all the RSPB letterheads
Having popped into The Maltings yesterday I was surprised to see the amount of refurbishment work being undertaken by builders on the existing buildings. These are being modernised for conversion into homes, the riverside area still looks at its best but the rest is just one big builders yard at the moment
