Upper Hollesley Common, within a few seconds of this photo being taken the Heavens opened up and it rained like the clappers for 10 minutes, fortunately we were able to shelter in the adjacent woodland of Rendlesham Forest

I've just had a look at the Ordnance Survey Maps of places where the Coastal Sandlings or Heaths still exist, where walks are possible, not all are extensive but those listed I have visited, there may well be others, if I have missed any perhaps someone can fill in some gaps Starting from The River Orwell area travelling North to Kessingland [not all in order] Pipers Vale Levington Trimley Heath Warren Heath Waldringfield Heath Foxhall Heath Brightwell Waldringfield Martlesham Little Bealings to Woodbridge near Seckford Hall Sutton Heath [Extensive] Ramsholt Bromeswell Hollesley Commons [Upper and Lower Extensive] Capel St Andrew Butley Iken Heath Tunstall Sudbourne Blaxhall [Extensive] Snape Common North Warren Aldringham Common [Extensive] Knodishall Sizewell Belts Westleton [Extensive] Minsmere Dunwich Toby's Walks [Adjacent to the A12 at Blythburgh] Walberswick Nature Reserve and extening into Dunwich Forest Wangford heading towards Reydon then heading towards Easton Bavents towards Covehithe Benacre and finally Kessingland

The Sandlings Walk I have completed most of this walk albeit over many different sections and days from Rushmere through to Southwold in fact part of the walk runs through the parish where I live. I took a photo of the signpost here at Hollesley Common on Tuesday, there is one thing I must give Suffolk County Council credit for and that is the way the signage and footpaths in our County are maintained There can be some spectacular colours seen in July and August with the Heather ablaze followed by the Autumn colours of the trees, bracken and bronzed heathers
