Lived here after our hiring in Ipswich. Had a bungalow in Paddock Way, did the occasional bit of moonlighting at Skid Parish's garage , the money was mostly spent at the Bull where my (ex)wife also worked behind the bar. A great little village. Used to commute to Wattisham

I visited St Mary's Church on 3rd April 1999, these are my own and the church booklet notes

  • The core of the church dates mainly from 13/14c
  • The Chancel dates from the early 13c
  • Some lancet windows from that period
  • The tower is c1300
  • A fine south porch of the 15c
  • Graffiti within the tower and chancel
  • 13c font
  • Remains of 4 medieval paintings one such is thought to be dd 1250
  • Rare James I Royal Arms overpainted to read George I
  • 17c pulpit
  • The Registers date from 1558
