I have been to Stowlangtoft several times but on one such visit on 3rd April 1999 I made some notes on St George Church and gleaned others from the church booklet on sale within

  • The Church dates from c1370-1400
  • Robt Dacy de Ashfield [benefactor] was buried in the chancel in 1401
  • Fine South Porch
  • Graffiti on the tower arch
  • Tower staircase door is from 1400
  • Font from c1400
  • Wall painting of St Christopher
  • The nave bench ends are regarded as some of the finest carved in Suffolk
  • 15c Chancel stalls
  • Marble monument to Paul d'Ewes dd1624
  • The oldest of four bells is dd 1614
