What a lovely village this is, almost completely unspoilt, the hand water pump leads to the the church on the rise.

My family had a pub in Monks Eleigh about 1825. His name was James Fynn and his wife Martha.I think the pubs name was the The Lion. I hope some one can tell me some thing about the pub.

Hi there,
My mothers family and my father's mother originate from Monks Eleigh/Milden area. My Gt Gt Grandfather's grave is just in front of Church Door and says he was campanoligist for 50 years .
My mother and her brothers went to Monks Eleigh school after walking each day through the fields from Milden. Can you imagine it on a wet cold day?no
