A lovely village sometimes spelt without the E at the end nestles in a hollow which has a church overlooking the picturesque pub The Fox, a giants house and a beautiful nature reserve called Newbourne Springs

Called The Giants House because there were two brothers that were very tall that lived here, they are both buried close to the porch door of the Church

There are still many glasshouses scattered around the village roadside verges, these were brought about by the Government of the day in 1930 to employ coalminers to start a new life in Suffolk. The Fox Inn dates from 1634, the Giants House washed in Suffolk Pink stands near to the pub. It is here that George Page and his brother, Meadows, lived. George stood 7' 7" in his stockinged feet and his brother just a few inches shorter, they travelled the country with a fair as 'Giants'.

They are both buried in the churchyard of St Mary's nearby and George's headstone is the third from the porch entrance.
